Automatic Blanking Die
About the Automatic Blanking Die
The Automatic Blanking Die can be installed on existing blanking line presses to shear coil material fed from a feeder into the required dimensions and angles. Its rotating die section enables a single unit to produce a wide variety of blank shapes, making it ideal for high-mix, low-volume production.
Features of Automatic Blanking Die
Improved Press Line Efficiency
Simply enter the die angle data or recall a preset part number to complete the setup for the desired blank shape. No die change is required, significantly reducing setup time and improving press line productivity.
Lower Die Costs
The blanking die system can easily cut trapezoid blanks to the desired shape. It is not necessary to manufacture a dedicated blanking die for each shape. (Rectangles and parallelograms can also be produced.)
Reduced Die Storage Requirements
Since a single unit can produce a wide variety of blank shapes, the number of dies required can be reduced, significantly reducing die storage requirements.

Types of Automatic Blanking Die
Double Variable Blanking Die System
Manual Type
The mechanism is the same as that of the automatic type. Desired trapezoidal blanks can be produced using two rotating dies. Two blanks can be produced with a single press stroke. Die positioning is adjusted manually using a handle.
Automatic Type
Desired trapezoidal blanks can be produced using two rotating dies. Two blanks can be produced with a single press stroke. The two rotating dies are automatically positioned using servo motor control.
Double Variable Blanking Die System Operation Example
Cutting takes place on both the movable die (loading) side and the fixed die (unloading) side during each press stroke. Two trapezoidal blanks are produced simultaneously. As shown in the figure below, the blanks are discharged to the main stacker and the side stacker.
Turn Blanking Die System
A single Turn Blanking Die System can produce trapezoidal blanks.
One blank can be produced with a single press stroke.
One blank can be produced with a single press stroke.
Turn Blanking Die System Operation Example
Based on the turn angles (α, β) preset in the numerical control system, the rotating die section turns with each press stroke to produce trapezoidal blanks. As shown in the figure below, the blanks are produced alternately in opposite orientations along the feed direction.
